It's back! The New National Gallery – The return of an icon of modern architecture.

A gleaming monument to architectural excellence – Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's New National Gallery on Berlin's Kulturforum has shed its scaffolding and tarpaulins to stand proudly in all its original glass and steel glory.

An important step on the path to reopening in summer 2021 has been taken!

From the planning by David Chipperfield Architects through to delivery, KVL is proud to have been involved as project manager. The objective of the 100 million euro refurbishment project was not just to increase storage space but also to upgrade the building's functional systems in order to meet today's museum standards without compromising its original appearance.

An impressive collection of modern and contemporary art will once again be on display in the museum on Potsdamer Platz from summer 2021. We're looking forward to the first exhibition!
