Run to get the message across - that's what we did by supporting the BERLIN CITY MISSION's Winter Watch with our annual 24-hour relay race, organised in collaboration with the running groups Wechselzone and MileHighBerlin. Every winter since 1994, #Kältebussen ("cold buses") have been helping prevent homeless people from freezing to death. They provide hot drinks and sleeping bags as well as transport to a night shelter if requested. We were thrilled as well as moved by the number of people who took part and the sum we raised. This year it was 33,333.33 euros.
It is great to see how we can help the homeless survive the winter months. All the proceeds go to the Berlin City Mission. It was especially important this year because not as many night shelter places were available due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, an additional #Suppenbus (mobile soup kitchen) was on the road in the city. Many thanks to all the runners and supporters and the Berlin City Mission team for their unwavering commitment.
