Studentendorf Campus Berlin-Adlershof

An ambitious and attractive student village covering approx. 11,000 m² was created on the northern edge of the ever-growing Berlin-Adlershof research and media facility campus in the southeast of Berlin. The WOHNEN AM CAMPUS site also includes the neighbouring plots, which have been planned for predominantly residential use.

The ten cube-shaped buildings are evenly distributed over the site and connected by a loose system of paths. Two four-storey blocks form the opening on Abram-Joffe-Strasse, while the other buildings are three stories high, grouped in fours around a small square.

Identical organisational priciples and construction methods deliver high cost efficiency, yet allow for a very diverse distribution of different types of housing: single and double apartments, shared apartments and living units for students. Around 375 student apartments with bathrooms will be built. The entrance to the residential campus is via a village square, which can be reached from the campus grounds. Some central functions are situated here. A key project goal was to achieve energy-efficiency standard KfW 40 and thus improve energy saving potential. The ergonomic design has resulted in an attractive and lively residential complex for students.

KVL was in charge of controlling the project as well as monitoring the project data room.
